we are real with the world, which doesn't respond; so there must be something wrong with it, it has failed us, therefore we remove ourselves from it... the same rhythm of disclosure, disappointment, and isolation.

it's unusual, reading published works about the conflicts of community and public spaces and finding that a lot what they say about sociology of individuals in a community can be applied to yourself. i'm essentially feeling described by a textbook.
